NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — An 18-year-old from Ogallala returned to court Monday to face multiple charges stemming from a fatal crash that claimed the life of a local teen last summer.

Addison Malone is accused of causing the death of her passenger, 18-year-old Nathaniel Sandoval, during a high-speed crash on July 18, 2024. The incident occurred outside North Platte city limits on West A Street, where investigators say Malone was driving under the influence when she lost control and struck a tree.
In Lincoln County District Court, Malone entered not guilty pleas to several charges, including second-degree murder, motor vehicle homicide, manslaughter, and first-offense minor in possession of alcohol. A pretrial hearing is set for August 11 at 10 a.m., with a jury trial scheduled for September 29.
