Carol H. Houborg, former Cozad resident, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 87. Carol was born December 31, 1936 at Cozad, Nebraska to Harlan and Helen (Lantzer) Iliff. She graduated from Cozad High School.  Carol married Robert “Bob” Houborg on August 21, 1955 at Cozad. They made their home on a farm northeast of Cozad. Carol was a nurse at Cozad Hospital. She was a volunteer at Southview Manor Care Home and a faithful and devoted member of Parkview Methodist Church. Following their retirement, Carol and Bob enjoyed many winters in Mesa, Arizona where they made several friends.

After Bob passed away Carol moved to Lincoln, NE to be near her daughter, Jodi. She lived at the Legacy Terrace for 19 years where she made many friends and welcomed newcomers to the independent living lifestyle.  She loved to entertain and continued that tradition welcoming many into her apartment for card games and happy hour plus requesting field trips to Misty’s during football season or other activities that required the Terrace van.
