NORTH PLATTE - A three day Church "Mission" is being planned for later this month at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in North Platte. The event is "LUKE LIVE!", a performance of the first six chapters of the Gospel of Luke, performed by Father James DiLuzio, a missionary priest of the Paulist Fathers.
Enjoy a “You Are There” experience of Luke’s Gospel. Hear it shared as the Early Church heard it—as stories handed down from memory through an “oral tradition” enhanced with music. Join Paulist Father James DiLuzio for three evenings of scripture, drama, hymns, fellowship & more! Experience the Gospel of Luke as members of the Early Church experienced it — internalized, personalized, shared! The ancient custom of memorizing beloved texts enables faith to Come Alive in ways that simply reading the scriptures do not.
As a priest and actor, Fr. James DiLuzio developed this Mission/Retreat to inspire, to entertain and to exemplify how we may more fully personalize and celebrate scripture in our lives.
The three day event will be held Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, October 23rd, 24th and 25th at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, located at 2801 West E Street in North Platte, beginning at 7:00 o'clock p.m. each night.
In addition, Father DiLuzio will preside at daily Mass each morning at 7:30 o'clock a.m. at the Church. Each Mass will be followed by rolls and coffee in Nelson Hall, after which Father DiLuzio will share a brief spiritual message.
There is no charge for the LUKE LIVE! Mission or the daily sharing, however a free will offering will be taken at all events.
