The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners will meet Monday, March 23 at 9 a.m. in the commissioners room at the Lincoln County Courthouse.
The meeting will be followed by a Board of Equalization session beginning at 9:15 a.m. Both meetings are open to the public and available to watch online via the county’s YouTube channel.
Commissioners will begin with routine business, including approval of minutes, a public comment period, and consideration of claims and treasurer’s receipts.
Several administrative items are also on the agenda, including authorizing the chair to sign 2026 election polling place agreements, lottery license renewals for 2026 through 2028, and a special designated liquor permit for a wedding reception scheduled June 20 at The Farmhouse.
Right-of-way permits for Viaero Fiber Networks LLC and Allo Communications will also be considered.
A major portion of the meeting will focus on long-range planning. Commissioners are scheduled to consider adopting Resolution No. 2026-08 for the 2026 Lincoln County Comprehensive Plan, along with Resolution No. 2026-09 to adopt updated zoning regulations and the official zoning map with amendments.
During the Board of Equalization session, officials will review certificates of correction and refund submitted by the county assessor.
Back in regular session, commissioners will discuss waiving land use permit fees for property owners rebuilding structures damaged in recent fires.
Two public hearings are scheduled as part of the county’s planning agenda. One involves a request from Jeffery and Robyn Huffman for a conditional use permit to operate a wedding and reception venue at 12401 West Island Road. The second request, from Neil and Casandra Sundstrom, seeks approval for a small-scale campground with RV sites at 10960 Miller Road.
The board will also receive an update from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office regarding the purchase of sidearms.
Additional Board of Equalization business will include consideration of tax exemption applications on real and personal property.
Later in the meeting, commissioners will consider an interlocal agreement with the City of North Platte for animal control services, as well as equipment purchases for the county roads department, including a bottom dump trailer and a day cab tractor.
An interlocal agreement between Lincoln County and Keith County for fire aid is also up for discussion.
The board may enter closed session if necessary to discuss legal matters, real estate, security issues, or personnel evaluations.
The meeting will conclude with reports from elected officials and department heads, as well as commissioner committee reports before adjournment.
