Elaine L. Frank, age 88, of McCook, Nebraska died peacefully at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook on Saturday, January 23rd, 2021. She was Born June 18th, 1932 to Harry E. Sr. and Opal (McCord) Smith in Cambridge, Nebraska. She grew up on the farm near Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1949.
Elaine married Marvin L. Frank in Cambridge on March 4th, 1950 and to the union four children were born. She was employed by the McCook Clinic as a nurse and later as a receptionist until her retirement.
Elaine was a lifetime member of the Methodist Church and a long-term member of BPOE Does. She enjoyed her volunteer work with the Blood Mobile, Helping Hands Thrift Store, and organizing and helping with the church’s funeral dinners. Elaine also enjoyed playing bridge, cooking, sewing, and Nebraska football. She especially cherished the company of her children and grandchildren and taking care of the “Love of Her Life!”
Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; parents; parents-in-law, Jesse and Gladys Frank; brothers, Harry Jr. (Mary) and Donald (Jeanne); brother-in-law, Charles Klinkebiel, and daughter-in-law, Tara.
She is survived by her sister, Bonnie Klinkebiel of Golden, Colorado; daughter, Diane (Steven) Marr of McCook, Nebraska; sons: Dennis Frank of Greeley, Colorado; Doug (Linda) Frank of McCook, Nebraska; and Scott (Jodi) Frank of Fort Worth, Texas; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Elaine chose cremation and a joint memorial service and inurnment in the Bartley Cemetery for she and Marvin is being planned for a later date.
