Crawford man seriously injured during fireworks display

CRAWFORD, Neb.-A Crawford man is in a Denver hospital after he was seriously injured during the local fireworks display.

Luke Norman was assisting with the fireworks display at the Crawford Rodeo Grounds on Sunday when he took a direct hit to the face from a firework.

According to a Facebook post from his wife Erin, Luke was transported to a Denver hospital where he underwent surgery for injuries to his face and eyes.

According to the post, Luke sustained minimal damage to his right eye but suffered a retinal detachment in his left eye.

Luke is expected to make a full recovery, however, he may face multiple surgeries on his left eye in the future.

"Please continue prayers for healing," said Erin. "Thank you for all your support. What a wonderful community we live in. So blessed."
