CAMBRIDGE, Neb. — Two people were hospitalized following a boating accident Saturday afternoon at Medicine Creek State Recreation Area.
The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. on July 13, when a tube being towed behind a boat collided with a moored vessel. Onboard the tube were a 45-year-old Indianola man, his 11-year-old son, and a 13-year-old boy from Danbury.
The adult male suffered serious injuries to his head, back, and pelvis. He was transported by ambulance to CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, where he remains in stable condition. The 13-year-old was also hospitalized with injuries to both legs. The 11-year-old boy was evaluated but did not require medical treatment.
