Dan Winchell, 75, of North Platte, passed away December 19, 2021 at his home. Dan was born October 31, 1946, in Julesburg, Colorado the second child of Robert and Barbara Winchell. Dan served in the United States Army intelligence from 1964 through 1973. He was employed at the North Platte postal service retiring in 2002.
From Dan’s first marriage his two son’s Robert and Richard were born. Then on October 6, 1986, Dan married Linda Reimer, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dan enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years. Later in life he enjoyed Las Vegas and Laughlin trips.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Barbara Winchell and his sister Linda.
He is survived by his wife Linda, North Platte, Nebraska; sons, Robert (Dayna) Winchell, of California and Richard Winchell, of Lewellen, Nebraska; daughter, Tonya (Chris) Warneke, York, Nebraska; son, Jeremy Reimer, Silverthorne, Colorado; brother’s Dean (Tina) Winchell, Harvard, Nebraska and John (Gayle) Winchell of North Platte; grandchildren, Ally and Sam Warneke, York, Nebraska; along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, December 27, 2021 at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, with full military honors. Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. at the Platte Bar. Arrangements have been entrusted to Adams & Swanson Funeral Home.
The service will be livestreamed via the Adams & Swanson Facebook page for those unable to attend.
