Mario Prado Reyes, 25, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 4, 2024, in his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on October 1, 1998, in Lexington, Nebraska to Ramiro Prado-Ceja and Emilia Reyes de Prado. He attended public school in Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 2017.
What truly set Mario apart was his outgoing personality and his willingness to embrace new experiences. He had an adventurous spirit and loved trying new types of food. Mario always took the opportunity to travel to Michoacan, Mexico with his family and enjoy some quality time. One of Mario's greatest joys came from spending time with his family. Whether it was gathering around a campfire during a camping trip or simply sharing precious moments at home with everyone. Mario's biggest supporter and best friend was his mom. She took great care of her son and always supported him in whatever he wanted to do. One of Mario's greatest joys was the day he became a father to Matteo. He held a special place in his heart for his son. Playing together and creating lasting memories were sources of great happiness for them both.
Mario was deeply committed to the church and his faith was unwavering. His devotion to God guided him through the darkest hours of his battle with cancer. Throughout the four years since his diagnosis, Mario displayed remarkable strength and resilience. He never gave up hope and fought bravely. He will be greatly missed.
Those left to honor his memory are his parents, Ramiro Prado Ceja and Emilia Reyes de Prado of Lexington; brothers, Arturo (Monica) Prado-Reyes of Lexington, David (Geylin) Prado-Reyes of Kearney, and Jesus Prado-Reyes of Lexington; his son, Matteo Prado of Lexington; niece, Millie Prado-Mendez; nephews, Zlatan Arturo Prado and Rey Prado-Mendez, as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Diego Reyes and Rosalina Serrano, paternal grandparents, Jose Prado and Angelina Ceja, and his older brother, Ramiro Prado Reyes.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Lexington with Father Jose Chavez, officiating.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. with a rosary to follow at 7 p.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Lexington.
Burial will be held at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery in Lexington.
Memorials are kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
