BIG SPRINGS, Neb.-A Nebraska man has been arrested after police say they found methamphetamine during a traffic stop, and a handgun while executing a search warrant.
According to the Deuel County Sheriff's Office, last Saturday, a deputy stopped a vehicle at 100 Frontage Road in Big Springs.
Authorities say the passenger in the vehicle, Charles Lile, of Big Springs, had a Colorado warrant for being a felon in possession of a firearm, violation of a domestic protection order, violation of bond, and menacing with a firearm.
Lile was taken into custody without incident.
During a search incident to arrest, officials say it was discovered that Lile had methamphetamine on his person, weighing approximately an ounce and a half.
Lile is facing charges in Deuel County for possession of methamphetamine, possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, and tampering with evidence.
Authorities say a search warrant was conducted at Charles’ place of residency, which is located in the 400 block of W. 2nd St. in Big Springs.
During the search of the residence, authorities say a handgun was located.
Based on the description of the handgun, officials say it is believed this handgun was used in the Colorado case.
Lile will also face the additional charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm in Nebraska.
