News Release Jacobson for Legislature
NORTH PLATTE, Neb.- Mike Jacobson, Founder and President of North Platte based business, Nebraskaland Bank, and recently appointed District 42 state senator, announced today that he has launched his campaign to maintain the seat.
"I’ve built my entire life around family, community, hard work, and growing a North Platte bank that keeps community service at the center of all we do,” Jacobson said. “Now, I want to use my business experience and give back to our District by getting results on the things that matter to us.”
Jacobson is no stranger to public service in North Platte. He is the past President to organizations like the North Platte Public Schools Foundation Board and the North Platte Development Corporation and served in an elected capacity on the North Platte Airport Authority Board.
Last week, Jacobson was selected by Governor Ricketts to fill the Legislative District 42 vacancy. Since the appointment, Jacobson says he has hit the ground running on advocating for the district and offering leadership on issues important to the district.
“I’m working hard every day to defend District 42 families and taxpayers as their conservative senator,” Jacobson said. “My focus is growing our economy, creating jobs, fixing our broken property tax system, controlling spending, stopping federal government overreach, and holding government and those that lead accountable.”
Jacobson considers himself, an “unapologetic conservative Republican fighting to protect our conservative Western Nebraska values, way of life and Constitutional Rights.”
Jacobson and wife Julie have two children and have lived in North Platte for 27 years.
