Janice Kay Olson, age 85, formerly of McCook, NE, passed away at the Azria Health Care Center in Central City, NE on March 27, 2023. She was born in McCook, NE on March 11, 1938, to Elmer W. and Freda L. (Adams) Olson. Janice attended and graduated from McCook High School in 1966.
She attended Western State College in Gunnison, CO, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in music and physical education. Janice taught in Cody, Wyoming for three years. Janice studied and obtained her master’s degree in 1978 from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. She then taught at Purdue University as a professor of physical education. Janice never married.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Freda; brother, Roger Olson.
Janice is survived by her sister-in-law, Twila Olson of Douglas, NE, and several cousins.
