A North Platte woman was arrested on numerous allegations after she allegedly fell asleep in her vehicle in the middle of the roadway, then huffed duster spray in front of police officers.

According to North Platte police,  on February 14, at 11:55 a.m., officers were called to a suspicious vehicle in the 1600 Block of Rodeo Road.

Police say they had received reports that a vehicle was stopped in the roadway and the driver was possibly intoxicated.

Upon arrival, Officers located the vehicle which was still running and in reverse, and made contact with the driver, later identified as 38-year-old Amy Becenti.

Police say officers had to wake Becenti up and also observed signs of impairment while speaking with her and that Becenti falsely identified herself to officers during the investigation.

As officers spoke to Becenti, police say they observed a can of duster aerosol spray on the driver's seat which Becenti was holding on to and later huffed in the officer's presence.

Police say a driving under the influence of drugs investigation was conducted by a Drug Recognition Expert and after the investigation, Becenti was placed under arrest on suspicion of a variety of charges including driving under the influence of drugs- 3rd Offense, criminal impersonation, driving under suspension, driving without an Interlock device, and use of intoxicating compounds.

Becenti was incarcerated at the Lincoln County Detention Center, pending a court appearance.
