NORTH PLATTE, Neb.-If your normal trash collection day is Mondays, your trash will have to stay kicked to the curb for an extra day.
With the New Year holiday falling on a Sunday, the North Platte Sanitation Department will observe the holiday on Jan. 2.
Residents are asked to have their trash carts in place by 6:30 a.m. on Jan. 3 to avoid being missed.
Officials remind residents that all garbage needs to be inside a city-issued container, and the lids must be closed. Trash or bags cannot be placed on the ground.
The Transfer station will also be closed Monday and will reopen for regular business on Tuesday.
