
Robert Maurice Reigan Sr., 88, of North Platte died Jan. 1, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Robert entered Heaven, having received the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. He was born February 7, 1937, in Los Angeles, CA, to Reuben M. and Mollie Neuberger Reigan. He lived in Los Angeles until the age of seven, when the family moved back to Rifle, CO. He graduated from Rifle Union High School in 1954. He attended Colorado University in Fort Collins, earning a B.S. in Industrial Arts in August of 1958 and a Masters in Industrial Arts in August of 1959.
On August 17, 1958, he married the love of his life Betty Jean Stouder, in Rifle, CO. To this union, three children were born: Robert Jr., Deborah, and Diana. They made their home in Fort Collins, CO until he completed his Master’s degree. They then moved to North Platte, NE, where he began his teaching career in the North Platte Public School System, a career that would last until May 1997, when he retired. He spent most of those years at Adams Middle School teaching shop. He helped build homes, built beautiful cabinetry, and remodeled lots of kitchen and bathrooms over the course of his life.
He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church until he became a charter member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church. He was a highly active member, volunteering in various capacities, as he could fix it all. He served as a Trustee at the Church, taking extremely diligent care of the Lord’s house. He was a member of Platte River Sportsman Club and Sons of the American Legion.
Survivors include his son, Robert M. (Girlie) Reigan Jr. of the Philippines; his daughter Diana (Larry) Wallace of North Platte; a sister-in-law, Beverly June Blackmore of Fruita, CO; eight grandchildren, Ashlea Reigan, Garrett Reigan, Ben Reigan, Noah Reigan, Alycia Carter, Robert Carter, Max Wallace, and Kylie (Riley) McConnell; numerous great-grandchildren, including two with whom he had the opportunity to spend time with, Cayli Heiser and Brooks McConnell; a very special friend, Connie McCreery; as well as other family and friends who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty, in 1996; by his daughter Deborah May (Reigan) Carter; by his parents, Reuben and Mollie Reigan; by his mother- and father-in-law, Barbara and Kenneth Stouder; by his sister, Beverly Koehler; his brothers-in-law, Elmer Blackmore and Ralph Koehler; and other loved ones.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 15, at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, with Pastor Robert Deardoff officiating. Burial will be at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens.
