Nancy R. Vasquez, age 77, of Sutherland, NE passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023 at her daughter Angie’s home in North Platte, NE.
Nancy was born on May 31, 1946 in Ogallala, NE, the daughter of William and Frances (Hackbarth) Clifton. She grew up in the Ogallala area and attended grade school there. She married Catalino Vasquez in 1972 in Colorado.
Nancy worked as the director of the Senior Center in Sutherland, NE for several years. She loved listening to Elvis Presley music, arts and crafts, and decorating for the holidays. She enjoyed spending time outside in the summer gardening, and spending quality time with her grandchildren. Nancy was always willing to help others and was a two-time survivor of breast cancer.
Those left to cherish Nancy’s memory are her husband of 51 years, Catalino; daughter, Angie Lalanne of North Platte, NE; sons, Larry Vasquez of Stapleton, NE, and Rodney (Suzy) Vasquez of Washington; brother, Robert (Jean) Raney of Overton, NE; and 21 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, David Joseph Vasquez; son-in-law, Chuck Lalanne; daughter-in-law, Cindy Vasquez; and sisters, Karen Richards and Donna Waters.
Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte, NE with Pastor Teresa Morland officiating. The memorial book will be available to sign on Monday, August 21st from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the family for a future designation.
