NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — A McCook man was arrested Saturday night following an alleged assault at the Wild West Arena during the final weekend of NebraskaLand Days.
According to the North Platte Police Department, officers working security at the Wild West Arena responded to a reported disturbance at approximately 10 p.m. June 27.
Police said their investigation determined a male suspect was involved in an altercation within the crowd during which a woman was struck in the face with a beer bottle and a man was punched in the face.
Officers documented injuries to the female victim that included facial swelling, redness and a bleeding laceration to her lower lip, according to the department.
Following the investigation, police arrested Drake Brunswick, 24, of McCook on suspicion of second-degree assault and third-degree assault. He was transported to the Lincoln County Detention Center.
The investigation remains ongoing.
