Peg Peterson-Keller was born May 10, 1933, in Corsica, South Dakota, to William A. and Myrtle (Thompson) Bos. Peg passed away on August 26, 2024.

Peg spent the first ten years of life in South Dakota, then LeMars, Iowa for a period of 2-3 years. At the age of 13, she and the family moved to Minden, NE. Peg graduated from Minden High School and attended Westmar College in LeMars, Iowa. She was a graduate of the American Medical Record Association School for Medical Record Technicians (Correspondence), thereby earning accreditation as a Medical Record Technician.

She married Homer Macklin in May of 1953. The couple were divorced. On December 27, 1958, she married George R. Peterson. George and Peg spent their entire married life in Broken Bow, Nebraska, raising two sons, Scott and Brad, and one daughter, Tracey. George passed away in February of 2005.

While in Minden, Peg worked as a bank teller, and later worked as a legal secretary in Minden, Kearney, and Broken Bow. She worked as the Director of Medical Records and Quality Assurance Coordinator at the Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center for 25 years, retiring in 1995. During this time, she was an active member of the Nebraska Medical Record Association and the American Medical Record Association, and held several regional and state offices, including serving as a delegate for the National Medical Record Association at their Annual Convention in Atlanta, GA. In 1994, Peg was honored by the Nebraska Medical Record Association when she received the Distinguished Member Award at their Annual Meeting.

On August 7, 2005, Peg married Neal Keller. Neal and Peg lived in Broken Bow where they enjoyed their time together with family and friends, as well as some travel. Neal passed away in December of 2007.

Peg enjoyed bridge and golf. She also enjoyed walking, reading, entertaining, and loved spending time with family and friends.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church all her life, serving on various committees and boards. She also enjoyed meeting weekly for several years with her Bible Study Groups.

Peg was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, George and Neal, and her brothers Jerry and Don.

Peg is survived by her sons Scott of Omaha, NE, Brad of Auburn, AL., daughter Tracey Johnson of Denver, CO, former daughter-in-law Debra Peterson of Omaha, NE, daughter-in-law Tracy Richard of Auburn, AL, nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, sister Dorothy Bertilson of Superior, WI, six nieces, two nephews, three step-granddaughters, and many special friends.

Memorial Services will be on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow, NE.   Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church, the Salvation Army, or the Broken Bow Library. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 10th from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at Govier Brothers Mortuary. Govier Brothers Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
