NORTH PLATTE, Neb.-A North Platte man was arrested over the weekend, accused of sexually assaulting a vulnerable adult.
According to North Platte police, on October 29, officers responded to a residence in the 900 block of west Philip in reference to a prior sexual assault that occurred in August of 2020.
Investigator John Deal says officers met with a 51-year-old female victim and her guardian.
Police say it was reported that the victim lives at the residence with Fred Vieyra. Fred reportedly laid down by the victim and fondled her and sexually penetrated her, according to police.
Investigator Deal says the victim is lower functioning mentally and was unable to give consent.
Following further investigation, Vieyra was contacted and arrested without incident on suspicion of abuse of a vulnerable adult and sexual assault.
Vieyra was jailed at the Lincoln County Detention Center.
