UNK broadcasting students take home hardware from the Nebraska Broadcasting Association awards ceremony

Lincoln, Neb. - UNK broadcasting students took home some hardware from the 2024 Nebraska Broadcasting Association Awards convention on Wednesday. The students won awards in the College Student radio category. The students who won awards in the college category were North Platte native Kade Mohr, Jon Willis of Omaha and Alex Hammeke of Ellinwood, KS.  

Award Winners: 

Kade Mohr of North Platte won "Best News Feature" for his "Focus on UNK" radio segment. 

Alex Hammeke of Ellinwood, KS won "Best Promotional Announcement" creating a promo for the morning news show on 91.1 KLPR "KLPR Daybreak"  

Jon Willis of Omaha was recognized for winning a $5,000 scholarship from the Nebraska Broadcaster Assocation.
