Roger Aden, 93, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died October 1, 2023 at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg, NE.
He was born to Arthur and Hanna Aden in Gothenburg on March 22, 1930 along with his twin brother, Rodney. Roger attended school in the Gothenburg area and was drafted in July of 1951. He served his country in Korea until July of 1953.
Roger married Shirley France, his High School Sweetheart on June 17, 1951. After Roger returned from the service they moved to the Aden Farm/Ranch South of Farnam. His love of farming kept him there until 1988 when he and Shirley returned to Gothenburg and retired shortly after that. During his farming career he served a number of years on the Co-Op boards in Farnam and Gothenburg, on the soil Conservation Board of Frontier County, the School Board , and also the Church Council of American Lutheran Church. He enjoyed his church, family, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include children Kent (Sue) Aden of Cozad, Mary Lou (Dennis) Clark of Gothenburg, Matthew Aden of Farnam, and Michael (Joy) Aden of Littleton, CO. 10 grandchildren - Mandy (Doug) Abbott, Ashley (Jay) Fuller, Jamion (Tasia) Aden, Kaitlyn Clark, Joshua (Jessica) Clark, Scott (Audrey) Aden, Jared (Molly) Aden, Derek (Jordan) Aden, Claire (Ben) Rowland, and Luke Aden. 16 great-grandchildren - Rachel, Tyler, Jayleigh, Katie, Addison, Rugor, Rider, Tanner, Kye, Cole, Collyns, Chelsea, Elliott, Mackenzie, Walker, and soon to arrive baby Clark. Brothers Rodney (Arlene) Aden and Keith (Marcy) Aden both of Gothenburg.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Hanna Aden, his wife Shirley Mae Aden, granddaughter Kendra Leigh Aden, grandson Jason Douglas Clark, daughter-in-law, Ann Aden, great granddaughter Rhakenna Lynn Aden, and sister Karen Ludwig.
Funeral Services will be held at American Lutheran Church, Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 2:30 pm with Doug Hjelmstad officiating, with visitation taking place one hour prior to the funeral.
Burial will follow in the Gothenburg Cemetery, Gothenburg, Nebraska.
