Robert James Perry of Cozad, Nebraska passed away Monday, March 8, 2021 at his home in Cozad at the age of 66. Robert was born December 17, 1954 at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas to Norwood and Delores (Antee) Perry.
He joined the U.S. Navy and served for about one year. Following his discharge, Robert started his career as a truck driver. He worked for several places in Abilene, Texas. Robert moved to Nebraska in May of 2020 and was united in marriage to Sonja Eynetich in June at Minden, Nebraska. He loved music, fishing, sports and motorcycles, especially Harley-Davidson. Robert was a wonderful dad, grandpa and husband. He was kind and gentle, yet stern. Everyone who met him loved him. His family was the pride and joy of his life. He would do whatever he could to help them out, even when they drove him crazy.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Norwood "Woody" Perry; and grandson Frank "Baby Frank" Esparza.
Survivors include his wife Sonja of Cozad, Nebraska; children, Laura Frias of Texas, Gwendolyn Perry, Eric (Shonda) Perry, Blake (Mellisa) Perry, Blaine Perry, Bria Perry, all of Texas; step children, Teryn Eynetich, Tia (James) Chilewski and Jericho Wright, all of Cozad, Nebraska; grandchildren, Gabriel, Isaiah, Viktoriya, Damian, Dominic, Lane, Teagan, Blaire and Atticus; step grandchild, Gavyn; sisters, Sharyn Hights, Melissa Perry, Diana Kelly, all of Texas; and many nieces, extended family and close friends.
Cremation was chosen.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel in Cozad, Nebraska with Pastor Steven Shanno officiating.
