
Dickie Paul Edelman, age 63, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away May 6, 2021 at his home. He was born May 7, 1957 to Dick and Bonnie (Sweet) Edelman in Seneca, Nebraska.
Dickie grew up in Seneca. In 1972 he moved to Mullen, Nebraska and graduated from Mullen High School with the class of 1975. On July 2, 1976 he married the love of his life, Jean Ann Christensen. The couple made their home in Dickens, Nebraska where he worked for Holm's Well Drilling. Dickie was a ranchhand for several years and then moved to North Platte, Nebraska where he worked for Nebraskaland Tire, T.O. Haas Tire and then became a conductor for Union Pacific Railroad. He retired in May of 2019.
Dickie loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing camping and golf. He played softball with the Eagle’s team for number of years. Dickie also loved building knives and was very proud of his creations. He enjoyed the rodeo and volunteered 25+ years with the Buffalo Bill Rodeo. Dickie was a member of the Eagle’s club.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Edelman of North Platte, Nebraska; two children, Bill (Tabitha) Edelman of North Platte, Nebraska, Jana (Jade Gracey) Cox of Gothenburg, Nebraska; grandchildren, Megan Cox, Kade Cox, Rhett Edelman, Rhys Edelman; siblings, Catherine “Cap” (Don) Dillon of Cozad, Nebraska, Gail (Jim) Herrmann of Nenzel, Nebraska, Sue (Jim) Maire of Gretna, Nebraska; in-laws, Dewayne (Kathy) Christensen of Idaho, Larry (Cindy) Christensen of Wallace, Nebraska, Tammy (Jeff) Dugger of North Platte, Nebraska and Sue (Dirk) Higgins of North Platte, Nebraska; and numerous other family members and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother Bill Edelman.

Services will be held 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home in North Platte, Nebraska with Reverend John Sexon officiating. Visitation will be held noon-7:00 P.M., with family present 5:00-7:00, Monday, May 10, 2021 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements. The service will be livestreamed via the Adams & Swanson Facebook page for those unable to attend.
