
Viola F. Fraizer, age 100, of Big Springs, Nebraska died Friday, August 18, 2023, at Sedgewick County Memorial Nursing Home in Julesburg, Colorado.
Viola was born November 23, 1922, in Morrow County, OH to John and Anna (Davis) Helman. She attended schools in Waldo and Ashley, Ohio. Viola met Floyd Fraizer and they were married on October 18, 1938, at her grandmother’s house in Waldo, OH. Viola and Floyd made their home in Lewisburg, OH where Viola was a homemaker. In 1944, they moved to Ashley, OH while Floyd was in the Service. In 1946, the family moved to Marengo, OH where Floyd and Viola rented a farm. In 1948, they moved to Mount Gilead, OH. In 1959, Viola worked for Power Equipment Co. in Galion. She retired in 1987. In 1992, Viola and Floyd moved to Big Springs where Viola worked for Purty Punkins in Brule, NE for several seasons. In 2019, Viola moved to Northglenn, CO to be close to her daughter. In May of 2023, she moved to Sedgwick County Nursing Home in Julesburg.
Viola was a past member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Cardington, OH, a member of the Harmony Baptist Church in OH and a 4H leader and a member of the Wayside Garden Club, and a member of the Harvest Baptist Church in Ovid, Co.
Survivors are a son Harold (Sandy) Fraizer of Big Springs, NE. A daughter Julia Gessner of Northglenn, CO. One Brother Donald (Betty) Helman of Mount Gilead, OH.
Four Grandchildren, Eighteen Great Grandchildren, and Seven Great- Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her Husband Floyd in 2002; Daughter Rosalyn Detwiler, Grandson Harold Gessner, son-in-law Bernie Gessner; and three brothers and four sisters.
Visitation will be Friday, August 25, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Draucker Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the Draucker Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors, Terry Detwiler of the Assembly of God Church of Valley City, ND. and Mark Baker of the Harvest Baptist Church in Ovid, CO.
Interment will be in the Big Springs Cemetery, Big Springs, NE.
A Memorial has been established for the Harvest Baptist Church of Ovid, CO.
