North Platte Public Schools Board candidates will take part in a public forum Thursday, October 15, at Mid-Plains Community College.
The forum is hosted by the North Platte Education Association and will feature a question-and-answer format. Questions will be presented by moderator Tristen Winder of KNOP.
The forum will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Mid-Plains Community College Theater. The public is invited to attend, and all candidates have been invited to participate.
Six elected members serve on the North Platte Public Schools Board and are responsible for setting and monitoring district policies, determining the direction of the district and making decisions about how district funds are spent.
Candidates elected in the November General Election will serve four-year terms, with those terms running through 2030.
North Platte Education Association President Kenzie Mollring encouraged residents to attend the forum to learn more about the candidates and their positions on issues affecting the district and its students.
The November General Election is scheduled for November 3.
