We call this special meeting to order. Regrettably, one of our members
has left the group. Lynn Lewis Herrick went home to be with the Lord on
January, 22, 2021, at the age of 92.
Old Business
Lynn was born on August 17, 1928, to J Lee Herrick and Jerusha Daisy Mae (Abell) Herrick in Moorefield, Nebraska. He was the fifth of seven boys. He was of a hardy stock. The boys walked 5 miles to and from school. If brother Ted was in charge, the boys would run the distance between two power poles and walk one. With a lot of prayer and a few tardies, Lynn managed to graduate from Stockville High School. He went on to obtain a degree in secondary education from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. He taught in a number of locations but spent the longest time teaching agriculture classes and mechanics and sponsoring FFA at Gothenburg High School. As a teacher, he motivated the "trouble kids", encouraged students to properly tie a tie, and insisted all meetings be conducted using parliamentary procedure.
After he retired from teaching, he served multiple terms on the town
board for the Village of Brady-all the while ensuring they followed
Robert's Rules of Order. He went on to work at multiple other jobs -
most of them involving some type of business venture with his brothers.
He was known for asking you what you wanted to do that day at work, and then proceeding to tell you what was ACTUALLY going to be done.
He was always the first to offer a helping hand to anyone needing help
with almost any kind of project. Gifts from Lynn came in the form of
assistance with electrical wiring, painting, siding, windows, assembling
and/or possibly re-assembling furniture, scaffolding, or just about
anything else. He merely wanted to be part of the adventure.
New Business
Lynn will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Donna
(Woodruff), his sons, his daughters, his grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, and many other family members and friends.
A private family ceremony will be held at the Brady Community Church.

Now, Lynn will be helping the Lord's contractors build something amazing or run some really important meeting more efficiently up in Heaven.
