Isabel “Izzy” Snider, 86, of North Platte, NE, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Centennial Park Nursing Home.
Izzy was born on March 12, 1937, in Los Angeles, CA, the daughter of John M. and Ana Maria (Ochoa) Ortega. She grew up in Rosemead, CA, and graduated in 1956 from San Gabriel Mission High School, San Gabriel, CA. Soon after, her twin brother, Ernie, introduced her to his new friend Robert Snider from Navy Boot Camp in San Diego, CA. Robert and Izzy were married on June 15, 1957, at San Gabriel Mission. Four sons and one daughter were born to this union. They lived in California until 1973, when they moved to Maywood, NE.
Throughout their marriage, Izzy babysat and cared for many children. She was especially fond of rocking babies to sleep. Izzy was a devoted homemaker, fabulous cook, wife, mother, and grandmother who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a blessing to her family and many friends. There were never enough presents or hugs and kisses for all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those left to cherish Izzy’s memory are her loving husband of 66 years, Robert A.
