Robert Lee Sutton, age 87, formerly of Stratton, Nebraska, passed away at the Azria Mt. Clair Nursing Home in Omaha, Nebraska.
He was born on July 12, 1933 on a farm near Stratton, Nebraska to Paul and Selma (Ross) Sutton. In 1951, Robert joined the United States Navy. On June 1, 1952, Robert married Beverly Ewald in Yuma Arizona. They resided in San Diego, California for four years before moving to New Port, Rhode Island, where they spent two years before moving to Norfolk, Virginia. They spend six years in Hawaii before Robert retired from the United States Navy 1971. They moved to Palisade, Nebraska in 1981, where he sent the remainder of his life before moving into the Montclair Nursing Home in Omaha, Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly (Ewald) Sutton; his parents and siblings.
He is survived by his three daughters, Paula (Wes) Yeager of McCook, Nebraska, Kathy (Brian) Day of Denver, Colorado, and Valerie (Michael) Weigel of Omaha, Nebraska; four grandchildren, Rebecca (Jason) Ritterbush, Emily Weigel, Andrew Yeager, and Alyssa (Ron Stryker; one great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Ritterbush; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services for Mr. Sutton will be a private family service on Monday, December 21, 2020 at Herrmann Jones Memorial Chapel in McCook, Nebraska. Interment in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery north of Stratton, Nebraska at 2:00 p.m. with Military Honors. Visitation will be at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook, Nebraska on Sunday, December 20, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with the family present from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
