NORTH PLATTE, NE February 27, 2026-Kyle Nichols, a lifelong community member and concerned parent, recently announced his candidacy for the North Platte School Board. Running on a platform centered around the theme “Restore Bulldog Pride,” Nichols aims to bring a commonsense perspective focused on creating a culture of success, respect, and unity within the district.
Nichols, who is not an education insider, is running to provide a voice for parents, students, and community members who believe in the potential of North Platte’s schools. His campaign defines “Restoring Bulldog Pride” as fostering an environment where teachers feel supported and want to teach, students are proud of their schools and eager to learn, and the community regains complete faith in its school system. Because when Bulldog Pride is real, it brings everyone to the same table, the taxpayer, our staff, our administration, and most importantly our students, and I will be an advocate for all of them.
The campaign will focus on building trust between the school board and the community it serves. Nichols has committed to open communication and collaborative leadership to ensure all stakeholders feel heard and valued. He believes that by working together, the district can overcome division and achieve greater success for every student.
“My Bulldog pride didn’t start today, it started when I was just a kid, listening to my grandpa and his friends tell stories about our town and our schools,” said Nichols. “Those moments stick with you. This community, this school, is part of who I am. I am running to bring a commonsense perspective to the board and work to build a culture of success, respect, and unity. It’s time we ensure our schools are a source of pride for every single one of us.”
