  Jan (Sargent) Bremer was born to Larry and Betty Sargent on March 20, 1961 in Oberlin, Kansas. Jan graduated from Chase County High School in 1979. Following high school, Jan continued her studies at McCook Community College. Jan worked various jobs in Imperial, Benkelman, and Kansas before returning to Benkelman and serving as the newspaper editor before following her life-long dream of truck driving. Jan spent 18 years on the road as an owner-operator. She traveled 46 states with her beloved pugs, Sassy and Rocky.

Jan met her husband, Kip, in high school and returned to Chase County to join him on the farm for harvest in 2018. The two were united in marriage on September 28, 2019 in the Black Hills of South Dakota, where the two enjoyed visiting, especially by motorcycle.

Jan was a proud mother and eagerly spent time and played with her grandchildren as often as possible. Jan enjoyed helping on the farm and was a passionate gardener.

Jan was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents; siblings Shauna and Jay; uncles Larry Helm and Dale Sargent; aunt Berta Harris, and cousin Jeff Sargent.

Jan is survived by her parents, Larry and Betty Sargent; brother Gene (Jennifer) Sargent; sons, Jeffry Allen Hoagland, Mathew Lynn Hoagland, and Travis (Abby) Ogg; grandchildren, Miles Hoagland of Colby, Kansas, Brayden Hoagland of North Platte, Nebraska, Duncan and Brody Ogg of Grant, Nebraska, Amelia and Paxton Mintling of Imperial, Nebraska; Jaylyn and Tora Fishler of Kearney, Nebraska; step-daughters, LaCosta (Jeremy) Fishler of Kearney, Beth Bremer of Custer, South Dakota, and Lisa (Ryan) Mintling of Imperial; and most especially, her beloved husband, Kip, with whom there just wasn’t enough time left in their “forever and a day”, and whom she loved “a lottle.”Jan respectfully requested there be no memorial service.
