Ruth Sera Kamino, 96, of North Platte, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born December 9, 1924 in Hillrose, CO to Shiro and Mayo (Sera) Tamura.  
Ruth graduated in 1949 with a BS and in 1955 with a DVM from Colorado State University.  On January 28, 1956 Ruth was united in marriage to Samuel Kamino at All Saints Episcopal Church in Sterling, CO.   She practiced as a veterinarian at Valley Veterinary Clinic for many years, and was a member of the Episcopal Church of Our Savior in North Platte.  She volunteered for over 25 years with RSVP, and with many other organizations.
Surviving are her daughter Ann Kamino of Lincoln; son, John Kamino (Miriam) of Snellville, GA; granddaughters, Angela and Allison; 4 nieces and 2 nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Samuel; parents, Shiro and Mayo; step-father, Yonekichi Takeuchi; two sisters and a brother.
Those wishing to sign the memorial book may do so on November 19th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel.  A private family service will be held at the Episcopal Church of Our Savior.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation (PO Box 1321), Episcopal Church of Our Savior, or the University of Nebraska Foundation (Fund 7343).
