Harold Curtis Joedeman, 86 of Stapleton, NE, passed away at his home on the family farm south of Gandy on July 27, 2024. He was born on January 21,1938, to William and Fern (Tomlinson) Joedeman of Gandy, NE. He graduated from Logan County High School in Gandy in May, 1956. He married Mary Halouska on June 12, 1956. The couple lived on his family farm south of Gandy and have resided there ever since, except for 4 years in Arnold. He began working at the Forrester’s Garage and worked there for 48 years where he achieved Master Mechanic Certification. Harold served in the Army National Guard and Reserve.
He was a founding member of the Gandy Berean Fundamental Church and was a member of the North Baptist church for 20 years and later at the Gandy Community Bible Church. He served as a Deacon at both the Berean and Baptist churches. Harold was known as being very ornery and took pride in working on the farm. He mentored many people throughout the years.
Survivors: His wife Mary: Children; Cindy (Bill) Spurgeon of Scottsbluff, NE, Curtis Ray (Lydia Jo) Joedeman, Firth, NE, and Beth (Jim) Linn of Scottsbluff, NE, Sons in law: Allen (Velma ) Ewoldt of Stapleton, NE and Wayne Hathaway of Springfield, MA, Grandchildren; Cam (Teddi) Ewoldt, Serina (Rory) Bowen, Cay (Stephanie) Ewoldt, Connor Burns, Zachary Spurgeon, Jonathon Spurgeon, Josiah Joedeman, Sonnen (Tanner) Maahs, Lindsey (Kyle) Lash, Patrick Joedeman, and Briana ( Michael) Padgett: Numerous Great and 2 great great grandchildren, Brother: Robert (Luella) Joedeman of Stapleton, NE, Sister; Willa (Clarence) Hendrich of Portis, KS and numerous other family members and many friends.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, children Mary Ewoldt and Teddi Hathaway: grandson, Christopher Joedeman, siblings, brother Henry Joedeman: sisters, Florence Schaeffer, Lila Burnside, Rose Eleene Wonch, and Murene Bassett Leeper.
Memorial contributions may be made to Gandy Community Bible Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Gandy Community Bible Church with Pastor Frank Scott officiating. Burial will follow at McCain Cemetery. Reception will follow at the Gandy Community Bible Church. Visitation will be from 12:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31st at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, with family and friend’s visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Carpenter Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
