
Dorothy Wills, age 85, of North Platte, passed away at Linden Court on August 20, 2021.
Dorothy was born in Sutherland to George and Alfreda Fleecs on January 29, 1936. She grew up on a farm 4 miles southeast of Sutherland and attended Fairview Country School. Dorothy graduated from Sutherland High School in 1952 then attended Kearney State College where she received her teaching certificate.
She taught in rural schools in the Sutherland area and 3rd and 4th grades at Wallace Public School. She later worked for Cornhusker Tractor & Equipment Co., Lincoln County Treasurer, American Legion Club, and for the U.S.D.A. Farmers Home Administration.
On October 27, 1956, Dorothy married Donald Adamson. The couple had two children, Michael and Rhonda, and lived in North Platte. On March 25, 1988, Dorothy was united in marriage to Robert Wills and they made their home in North Platte.
Dorothy was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and playing bridge and loved dancing and listening to country music. She was an excellent cook and baker, she made the best chicken and noodles and peanut brittle. Dorothy enjoyed spending time at the family cabin at Lake McConaughy. She loved her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Alfreda, and stepfather, Charley Teply; sisters-in-law, Lila Fleecs, Joan Fleecs and Maria Fleecs; her daughter, Rhonda Frye; and stepson, Michael Baier.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Bob, son, Michael Adamson, and son-in-law, Jim Frye, all of North Platte; stepchildren, Patrick (Patty) Baier, of Amherst, OH, Sherry (Dennis) Seehawer, of Greenfield, WI, and David Wills, Kim (Lanny) Ley, and Julie Hansen, all of Cheyenne, WY; her sister, Shirley (Robert) Galyen, of Elkton, MD; brothers, Bob Fleecs, of Geneva, Francis Fleecs, of North Platte and Ron Fleecs, of St. Louis, MO; and special friend, Teresa Martin, of North Platte; as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other family and friends.
Cremation was chosen. Services will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Rosary will be at 1 p.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 p.m. with Celebrant Father Sagar. Inurnment will follow in Fort McPherson National Cemetery. The memorial book may be signed online at odeanchapel.com or from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the North Platte Catholic School Endowment Fund.
