Gothenburg, Neb. - On November 1, 2025 at approximately 12:43 a.m. the Dawson County Sheriff's Office was notified of a possible motor vehicle accident located at approximately Mile Marker 218 East of Gothenburg on Highway 30. Once deputies arrived on scene they located the 2008 silver Mazda in the north ditch. Deputies located 36 year-old Lynsy R. Herndon of Gothenburg inside the vehicle deceased.&nbsp;

It is believed by evidence located at the scene that restraints were not in use and alcohol appeared to be a factor.&nbsp;

The Dawson County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by Nebraska State Patrol, Dawson County Attorney's Office and Miller Towing.&nbsp;
