NORTH PLATTE, Neb.-A couple are facing burglary allegations after a North Platte resident found them in their home.
Police said on July 19, at around 6:44 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 1700 block of East 5th St.
Officers met with the homeowner, who advised they had been out of town and returned home to find Amanda Merill and Logan Johnston inside.
Police said the homeowner told officers that Merill had lived with her over a year ago but had been kicked out, was not welcome, and had not been given permission to be inside the residence.
Further investigation revealed Johnston and Merill had been rummaging through the refrigerator and eating food.
Police said Merill and Johnston were arrested and jailed on suspicion of burglary.
