NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — The North Platte City Council will meet Monday evening to consider several major infrastructure and development items, including a proposed $58 million bond ordinance for utility improvements and a wastewater agreement with Sustainable Beef, LLC.

The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at City Hall and will be livestreamed on the city’s YouTube channel.

Among the key items on the regular agenda is the first reading of an ordinance authorizing the issuance of up to $58 million in combined utilities revenue bonds. If approved, the funds would support additions, improvements and equipment for the city’s utility systems.

Council members will also vote on whether to approve a wastewater plant capacity agreement with Sustainable Beef, a move that would further integrate the beef processing facility into North Platte’s industrial infrastructure.

Other items include a resolution approving an amended redevelopment contract for the North Platte Mall Project and multiple paving-related ordinances and contracts, including a nearly $1.9 million bid award to Paulsen, Inc. for work on Francis Street and Bryan Avenue.

In addition, council members will consider a resolution supporting a MicroTIF project for Danlex Property Group, LLC, for the rehabilitation of apartments on Rodeo Road.

Zoning issues will also be addressed, including a second reading of an ordinance that would change the status of sexually oriented businesses from a permitted use to a conditional use in I-1 Light Industrial Districts.

The consent agenda includes mayoral appointments, a police grant authorization, and approval of special designated licenses for community events including Music on the Bricks and a Knights of Columbus block party.

The meeting will begin with an invocation from Rev. Jonathan Sorensen of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the Pledge of Allegiance. A closed session may be held if necessary to discuss personnel, real estate or litigation matters.
