Sharon Mae Bowers, 84, of Gothenburg, Nebraska formerly of Denver, CO, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at Hilltop Estates.
Sharon was born on March 17, 1939 in Center, NE the daughter of Leland W. Ballard and Viola (Ferguson) Ballard.
Sharon married Dean LeRoy Bowers on September 6, 1958 in Pierce, NE and together they had three children. Following Dean’s return from military service in Korea the couple lived in Creighton, NE and then moved to Denver, CO. Sharon was a gifted seamstress, enjoyed playing BINGO, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband Dean, brother, Milton Ballard, and sister, Barbara Fleming.
She is survived by children, Ruth Bowers of AZ, James D. (Elizabeth) Bowers of North Platte, and LeRoy (Dawn) Bowers of Ordway, CO; grandchildren, Matthew Bowers, Tanya Shallenbarger, Joshua (Domonique) Shallenbarger, Bernie Taylor, Bobby Taylor, Crystal (Skyler) Hoaglund, Christy Fleming, Cindy (Nate) Steen, Samantha Bowers, Patrick Bowers, and Drake Heikes; 12 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with Pastor Kem Reeder officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. MT on Thursday, January 18th at Fort Logan National Veterans Cemetery in Denver, CO. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16th at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which has been entrusted with the arrangements.
