North Platte Recreation Center Set to Reopen June 15 with New Aquatic Complex, Parking Lot and Entrances
By Allison Peck

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — The countdown is on for the grand reopening of the North Platte Recreation Center.
In just five days, residents will be able to experience the newly transformed facility, which now features a state-of-the-art indoor aquatic complex and a variety of upgraded amenities throughout the building.
When the facility reopens on June 15, visitors will have access to a new lap pool, zero-entry pool, water slides, hot tub, sauna and an aquatic Ninja Cross course — the only one of its kind in Nebraska.
In addition to the aquatic expansion, the Recreation Center's existing locker rooms, weight rooms, game room, fitness room and gymnasium will also reopen to the public.
The reopening will also introduce a new south parking lot and updated entrance locations for visitors.
Beginning June 15, the east entrance and east parking lot will be closed. Guests should instead use either the north entrance or the new south entrance.
Parking for the north entrance will be available along McDonald Road. Visitors using the south entrance should enter from McDonald Road and turn into the new parking lot, then follow the roadway around the fieldhouse to reach the main parking area. Additional signage will be installed around the facility to help direct visitors.
Officials encourage residents to review the updated parking and entrance map before arriving at the facility.
The June 15 reopening will include access to the new pool complex, hot tub, water slides, sauna, cashier stand and main entrance, along with the reopening of the existing locker rooms, weight rooms, game room and gym.
After years of planning and construction, the revitalized Recreation Center is set to provide North Platte residents with expanded recreation, fitness and aquatic opportunities for years to come.
