MLB facing legal challenge from conservative business group over All Star Game

Major League Baseball made a political statement earlier this year when it announced that the All Star Game would be pulled from Atlanta in response to Georgia's new voting law.

That decision did not sit very well with Georgia residents and one group is making a case out of it, in federal court.

The Job Creators Network filed a lawsuit on Monday in a New York federal court asking both the MLB and the MLB Players Associations to pay $100 million in damages to compensate for last business revenues in Georgia. The suit also seeks $1 billion in punitive damages for "unprecedented cruelty and hostility" toward the state of Georgia.

Along with the monetary aspect, the lawsuit would also force Major League baseball to move the game back to Georgia to be played on July 13th.

In a news release, Job Creators Network CEO Alfredo Ortiz said: "MLB Robbed the small businesses of Atlanta - Many of them minority-owned - of $100 million" he would go on to say "We want the game back where it belongs."

The Job Creators Network is an organization that supports small businesses all over the country, including businesses in Colorado and Georgia.
