FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NORTH PLATTE, NE, September 2, 2025 -- North Platte High School’s Theatre Department will present their fall production, The Outsiders September 25th and 27th at 7:00 pm and September 28th at 2:00 pm at the NPHS Performing Arts Center.
Adapted by Christopher Sergel from the famous novel by S.E. Hinton, The Outsiders follows the story of Ponyboy Curtis and the social tensions between the Socs and the Greasers in 1960’s Tulsa, Oklahoma. With a cast and crew of 50 students, Director Brittany McDaniel and Assistant Director Nicole Cepel have been busy helping bring this story to life. “It’s a scary show to tackle because everyone knows and loves the story, whether they grew up with the book or the movie. I’ve asked a lot of our students in terms of emotional vulnerability and acting, and they continue to blow me away night after night. The technical crew has put together a beautiful set and it’s just been the best experience.” Don’t miss this chance to see your favorite middle school book onstage!
Theater goers should be made aware that there is some onstage violence and use of theatrical weapons.
General Admission is $6 and the doors open at 6:30 p.m and 1:30 p.m. for the respective shows.
