Lincoln County Commisioners set to review phone system upgrade, sheriff's vehicle upgrades on Monday

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners will meet Monday morning to consider a slate of routine business along with several year-end items, including a proposed phone system upgrade and preparations for the county’s 2025 audit.

The meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m. at the Lincoln County Courthouse in the commissioners room. The session will open with a prayer, approval of minutes from the Dec. 8 meeting and a public comment period. Commissioners will then review claims, treasurer’s receipts and fee reports submitted by the county sheriff and county clerk.

At 9:15 a.m., the board will recess and convene as the Lincoln County Board of Equalization. Equalization items include approval of last week’s minutes, a public comment period, and review of certificates of correction and refunds submitted by the county assessor. Commissioners also will consider motor vehicle tax exemption applications submitted by the county treasurer. The board will then reconvene as commissioners.

A proposal from BTS for a county phone system upgrade is set for discussion at 9:30 a.m., followed by consideration of the 2025 audit engagement letter with RCM at 9:45 a.m.

At 9:55 a.m., commissioners will consider setting a date to receive bids for new patrol vehicles for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. A discussion on salaries for elected officials for the 2027–2030 term is scheduled for 10:10 a.m.

The board has reserved the right to enter closed session as needed to discuss litigation strategy, real estate matters, security planning or personnel evaluations.

Time will also be set aside to hear concerns from elected officials, department heads or their representatives, along with commissioner committee reports.
