Cynthia McGahan peacefully passed away at her home in North Platte on April 27, 2023, at age 79.
Cynthia, the daughter of Marcial and Encarnacion Corral, was born March 13, 1944, in Sorsogon, Philippines, where she was raised. She met Bryan McGahan while he was serving in the U.S. Navy and stationed in the Philippines. After their engagement, Bryan brought her back to Virginia, where he was stationed, and they married on June 21, 1972. After a short time they left Virginia and traveled together all over the country as Bryan continued his military service. In 1998 they settled in Bryan's hometown of North Platte.
Cynthia was a certified nursing assistant (CNA) and worked in various communities then was employed by the Opportunity Center in North Platte. She enjoyed taking care of people and also liked to sew and garden.
Cynthia leaves behind her husband, Bryan; daughters, Marie (Chilton) Leedom of Ceresco, Milcy McGahan (Todd Conklin) of Fremont and Emily (John) Jones of Pass Christian, MS; her sisters, Melinda Consipcion, Leticia Copobres, Janet Corral and Claudet Corral, all of the Philippines; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and other family.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation was chosen and private family services will be held. Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.
