Alejandro S. “Alex” Sanchez, age 74, of North Platte, Nebraska died June 10, 2021 as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was born on March 3, 1947 in North Platte, to Arnuflo and Sorcora (Saldobar) Sanchez.
Alex grew up in North Platte. He worked with his family picking potatoes at a young age. Later he began his career as a concrete contractor, taking great pride in his work. His motto was “Al Skals my name, concrete is my game”. On June 20, 2009 he married Helen Vieyra in North Platte.
Alex will be remembered as a great teacher to his family. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and loved to make people laugh and be goofy. His hobbies were working on cars and dancing to Motown music. No matter what, Alex loved those around him unconditionally.
Survivors include his wife, Helen, of North Platte, NE; children, Alex (Cynthia) Sanchez of Lincoln, NE, and Yolanda Sanchez of Lincoln, NE; step children, Rick (Jeanne) Navarette of North Platte, NE, Ron Navarette, and Ralph Navarette, both of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren, Lilyane (Jesse) Versch, Anthony James-Navarette, Briana Navarette, Miranda Sanchez, and Issac Sanchez, all of Lincoln, NE; siblings, Rick Sanchez, Arnuflo Sanchez, Mary Serrano, Rosie Sanchez, and Margaret Sanchez; and numerous other family members and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Esther Sanchez, Henry “Hank” Sanchez, and Albert “Al” Sanchez.

Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Monday, June 14, 2021 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home in North Platte, NE. Cremation will follow. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
