North Platte police arrested a man Tuesday night after a traffic stop led to the discovery of suspected methamphetamine, cash and drug paraphernalia.
According to the North Platte Police Department, officers conducted a traffic stop around 9 p.m. on April 21 in the 2100 block of Rodeo Road. The driver, identified as Jeffery Dowhower, was a person of interest in an ongoing narcotics investigation. Officers suspected he was transporting controlled substances into North Platte.
Police obtained consent to search the vehicle before deploying K9 Briggs. During the search, officers located approximately 90 grams of suspected methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia and around $500 in cash.
Dowhower was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, a Class IC felony, and possession of money and drugs, a Class IV felony.
He was taken to the Lincoln County Detention Center.
