NORTH PLATTE, NE - North Platte Area Habitat for Humanity pays tribute to the humanitarian efforts of President & Mrs. Carter at a reception on Tuesday, May 9 at 5:00 p.m. at Venue 304 downtown North Platte.Since 1984, President and Mrs. Carter have been champions and groundbreaking voices for affordable, decent housing for all, donating their time and leadership each year to build and improve homes through Habitat for Humanity. “We are grateful for President and Mrs. Carter’s continued partnership, and you can add to the legacy of this life-changing work by joining us to create our own local legacy in North Platte,” says Executive Director Dalene Skates. “Habitat has created a lasting legacy over the past 25 years, and it’s time to celebrate, honor and inspire,” adds Skates.

The May 9 event is open to the public and includes a proclamation by Mayor Kelliher, a tribute to the Carter’s humanitarian efforts, local speakers, a mural art contest announcement and news on the opening of a Habitat for Humanity ReStore this fall. Appetizers and a cash bar will be available. The event is co-hosted by The Telegraph and sponsored by FNBO, Bill Summers Auto Group, Hershey State Bank and Wilkinson Development.
