Phillip John Mains was born in Fremont, NE on October 4, 1975 to Richard and Donita (Vernon) Mains. He died peacefully surrounded by family at Hugley Hospital in Burleson, TX on January 14, 2023 after years of health problems.
Phillip grew up living in several states (NE, IA, AZ, TX). Most of his life was spent in the Hershey/North Platte area. He attended school in Hershey and Sutherland, finishing his senior year being home schooled. Phillip had numerous jobs but preferred cooking. His favorite was cooking at the family owned cafe in North Platte (Main-s-Treet), which they owned until 2012 when they moved to Burleson, TX.
Phillip met his life partner, Teresa Philpot and they were married April 5, 2002, They celebrated their 20th anniversary last year. To this union, two sons were born: Tustin Harley and Gage William. Phillip enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Phillip is survived by his wife (Teresa), his sons (Tustin and Gage), his mother (Donita) and sister (Sarah Mains Hiles/ Heath), aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father (Richard), who passed away on April 6, 2022, his grandparents, and his mother-in-law (Darlene Philpot).
Phillip will be cremated and the family will hold a private memorial at a later date. Mountain Valley Funeral Home in Joshua, Texas is in charge of the arrangements.
