Terry Lee Osborne, age 71, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on October 27, 2022. He was born January 9, 1951, in North Platte, NE to William and Hazel Beatrice (Bokoskie) Osborne-Funk.

Terry was very proud to be a veteran of the Vietnam War. He served honorably in the United States Army. He was stationed in Vietnam from 1971-1972 where he was an E-5 Helicopter Crew Chief for the 571st Medevac Medical Evacuation from Northern DMZ to Danang. During his service he earned ‘The Air Medal’ on multiple occasions. This medal is awarded to individuals for meritorious achievement while participating in aerial flight in support of ground forces. Terry continued to serve by being a part of the honor guard for the American Legion Post #208.
Terry went to work for the Union Pacific Railroad after returning home from Vietnam where he was a Conductor.  Grandpa “choo-choo” as most of his grandkids called him, rode trains from North Platte to Gering in the early days, then was transferred over to the Cheyenne route.  With the time spent away from home, his work friends truly became family. They liked to meet up at the Redwood in Cheyenne, WY. He worked for UPRR from 1972-2005 before retiring.
Terry enjoyed hitting the road with his family and friends to be outdoors. Many family vacations centered around hauling the boat to go fishing. He made the best of the Nebraska seasons. Deer, pheasant, and geese hunting would fill his calendar in the Fall and during the summer months you would find him on the water in a fishing boat he fixed up. He loved fishing, specifically for walleye. When not searching for the next big catch, he would enjoy relaxing afternoons on the river tanking with friends. His Ford truck(s) seemed to love to head West, taking many trips to Colorado to hunt elk. Whether the hunt was successful or not, his love of spending time outdoors made it well worth it. One of his favorite fishing trips was Halibut fishing in Alaska with friends. Terry always talked about going pheasant hunting in South Dakota, and in 2021 his kids made this a reality with a guided hunt, a memory that will not be forgotten. This trip was one of many of the stories told while sitting in the front yard listening to trains go by and having a ‘toddy’ in his favorite fine china (aka cottage cheese containers).
On August 27, 2004, Terry was united in marriage with Carolyn Krebs-Osborne. Carolyn and Terry took many scenic routes when traveling, enjoying the beauty of the outdoors along with making friends along the way.  Some of their fondest memories were snowmobiling at Grand Lake, an Alaskan cruise which included visiting an old Vietnam buddy, and attending the Sturgis rally. With their combined families, Terry had fun spending time with their kids and grandkids. He was a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
