Bonnie Stewart, age 81, of North Platte, passed away at home surrounded by her family on September 2, 2021.
Bonnie was born to Cheslie and Jessie Flock on January 30, 1940, in North Platte. The family moved to California in '41 then returned to North Platte after the war was over. Bonnie graduated from NPHS in 1958 then attended beauty school.
On June 19, 1960, in North Platte, Bonnie was united in marriage to Frank Stewart. They lived in Hershey for a short time, returned to North Platte for a few years then in '67 they moved back to Hershey (but with a North Platte address) and have been ever since. The couple had three children and were members of The Rock church.
Bonnie was a loving wife and a wonderful mother and grandmother. When her kids were young she enjoyed sewing, she made their clothes and shirts for Frank. In later years she loved watching her grandkids in their various activities. Bonnie also liked to go shopping and do crafts. She and Frank loved taking rides together on their Gold Wing and they belonged to a Gold Wing Touring Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cheslie and Jessie Flock.
Bonnie leaves behind her husband, Frank, and son, Jeff Stewart, of North Platte; daughters, Michelle (Henry) Mauldin, of Hooks, TX, and Jill (Tom) Stearns, of North Platte; grandchildren, Loretta Hoblyn, Brandon Hoblyn, Colt (Robbie) Stearns, Chelsey (Vao) Yang, Courtney (Andrew) Rooney and Chase Stearns (fiancee, Heidi Saner); great-grandkids, Rody, Sage, Paige, Paislynn, Neal, Otis, Jack, Ford, Georgianna, Annalee and Ella; her brother, Lloyd (Kay) Flock, of Buffalo Gap, SD; sister, Karen Young, of Omaha; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at The Rock Church. Burial will follow in Trinity Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be shared at odeanchapel.com.
