Rhonda Martenson, 64 of Kearney passed away Thursday, June 18, 2020 at St. Luke’s Good Samaritan Center in Kearney.
Rhonda was born April 9, 1956 in Kearney, NE to Leonard and Royetta (Larkin) Warner. She grew up on a dairy farm South of Gibbon. She attended school at District 42 through the third grade and then Gibbon High School, graduating with the class of 1974.
Rhonda loved animals, especially her dogs. She also enjoyed being outdoors, cooking, gardening and spending time with her family and friends. Rhonda helped her brother Gene with milking the cows and farming for several years. She was also employed at Nebraska Turkey Plant, Morris Press, Holiday Inn and most recently at Cabela’s.
On September 2, 2006, Rhonda was united in marriage to Albert Martenson, The couple made their home in Kearney.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Albert Martenson of Kearney; sisters, Betty (Bud) Stall of Gibbon and Marilyn (Tom) Schachta of Kearney; sister-in-law, Jan Warner of Kearney; two half-brothers; and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Elinore Warner; brothers, Don Warner and Gene Warner; sister-in-law, June Warner; and two half-sisters.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
