Joan E. Johansen, 89, life-long resident of North Platte, NE passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Great Plains Health Hospital.
Joan was born on March 9, 1933 in North Platte the daughter of Frederick W. and Elizabeth (Meyers) Anderson. She graduated from North Platte High School and worked for over 28 years with the Union Pacific Railroad as a clerk. She married William G. Johansen and together they had two children. She was an active member of First Lutheran Church, and member of the WELCA circle. She volunteered with the Goodfellow Shoe Fund and enjoyed participating in the Senior Center exercise group. She will be missed by all that loved and knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Kirk Johansen of Mancos, CO; granddaughter, Rachel Weiland; grandson, Mark Redman; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Elizabeth Redman; a grandson, Reid Weiland; and a sister Phyllis Clarke.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Patrick Sipes officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. Those wishing to sign the memorial book may do so on Monday, November 21st from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which has been entrusted with the arrangements.
